Let us tell you a little more about ourselves!
Catie is a stay-at-home mom, and oversees the dogs and kids. She works closely with Tori (17) and Noelle (13) at delivering puppies, training, cleaning, and grooming. AJ (16) and Luke (15) are great at keeping the yard clean and putting the dogs to bed. Lily-Cate (7) does her part by inviting dozens of other kids over to play and engage with puppies!
Catie is a full time homeschooling mom, and oversees the dogs and kids in their busy day-to-day lives, as well as being Manager and Operations Officer for THE Doodles. She has a true entrepreneurial spirit, always coming up with big ideas and creating spreadsheets!
With her birds-eye view of The Honest Egg Doodles, she helps our clients get started on the puppy process after filling out an application. She also oversees Puppy Kindergarten and the early clicker training we start at about 7 weeks old. She loves watching the pups show off their smarts and learn new things!
Tori, a freshman in college at Cedarville University, is our resident researcher, genetics expert, and social media manager! She spends hours learning from the best of the best Jeanette Forey and implementing top notch practices into our program.
She is passionate about constantly learning and improving. She loves watching puppies gain confidence during curriculum and learn to believe in their own abilities!
In her free time, Tori reads, paints, sings, and reorganizes closets.
The Boys—AJ and Luke (18 and 16)—are the heavy lifters around here. We count on them for hauling in bags of dog food and snow blowing.
AJ is also great with our very young puppies! He does a lot with them from 1-4 weeks, taking daily weights and doing gentle exposure activities like whelping box novelty items. He is patient, methodical, and cheerful in his work. In his free time, he hangs out with friends, plays tennis at the local highschool, ballroom dances, and sings.
Luke’s favorite activity with the dogs is to throw the ball in the backyard! He also takes great care of the lawn in the summer. Luke is active and humorous, and he spends his free time practicing guitar, playing football with friends, and skis and plays tennis whenever he can.
Noelle operates the majority of our social media, is our main photographer, and built and maintains our website herself (with just a few spellchecks from Tori!) Although she is only 14, you’d never guess it!
Noelle is industrious, creative, and passionate. She is the powerhouse behind many of the big ideas of THE Doodles, and we would not be the same without her! She also works with Tori for all of our temperament evaluations.
In her free time, she loves aerial and ballroom dance, creating elaborate interior designs, and going to the gym.
Lily-Cate is our energetic 8 year old. She works with the puppies from 2 weeks old till they go home. Lily-Cate loves to help out with puppy cuddles, and playing in the backyard with them.
In her spare time, Lily-Cate loves to hangout with her friends and do gymnastics in our living room.

Our journey to dog breeding started with a dozen chicks living in the basement of our rental house in 2009. We like to say we had backyard chickens "before it was cool." The chickens came with us to our current home, and were followed by turkeys, pigs, goats, and even guinea hens. We sold meat occasionally, but mostly eggs. We gave our chickens the best life they could have and did everything we could to truly be free range and grass fed, far exceeding the governmen’s definitions of those terms. Our customers wanted that full understanding of where their eggs and meat came from. Nothing was hidden and nothing we did needed hiding (we even welcomed families to chicken processing day!). Our practices led us to the name, "The Honest Egg."
We received Angus in 2010, after his previous family discovered they had allergies. Angus was friendly, charming, and sometimes too smart for his own good. He took his job herding the chickens very seriously, and constantly alternated between patrolling his huge backyard and chilling in the living room
After we began breeding with Dutch Haven, and our youngest child arrived, we realized we needed to step away from hobby farming. We no longer have any chickens, and our entire backyard is fenced in for the dogs.

We lost Angus rather suddenly in the summer of 2020 to degenerative myelopathy and a form of cancer. We miss him every day, but his loss spurred us to start The Honest Egg Doodles.
We love seeing so much of Angus' wit and spunkiness in Birdee (although they share no relation). We can't wait to meet Birdee's Aussiepoo pups in 2021!
